Default Hearing Protection

Hey everyone. I know im guilty of jsut screwing around on here but i would like to make on serious post without it getting hijacked. You all need need to wear hearing protection when you shoot any gun. Even rimfires. I am only 20 and have lost 25% of the hearing in my left ear and 10% in my right ear and have a permanent ringing in my left ear. Its not all from shooting, I work with cement and concrete so i know some of its from that but i grew up shooting without hearing protection and until recently shot a rimfire without hearing protection. I did not realize how bad it can hurt you. 1000 rounds out of a 22lr will make you lose 3% of your hearing without proper hearing protection. Thats alot of you figure most people who shoot on a regular basis shoot around 1000 22 lr rounds a year. Also just wearing regualr ear plugs when shooting a high power centerfire rifle (30-06, 308, 300 Win Mag, 7mm Mag, 7mm-08, and larger) is worse then shooting a 22 lr without hearing protection.

i always try and wear ear protection. i know that i have good(maybe not perfect) hearing and thats prolly due to wearin ear protection whenever i shoot. if i dont have ear protection to wear, i will plug my ears, i dont jus stand there and let my hearing get "shot"....haha ya like that one!!
