They arent superior, it just takes a little more to shoot a deer with a bow because of the yardage factor. People with rifles can shoot a deer from up to 300 or more yards away. With a bow most peoples max shot come out to be around 30 to 40 yards....If the extra point for a bow kill makes a stir we might have to have a vote or something. What do you guys think? Extra point or no?

I vote for the extra point. Becouse i spend all season scouting and getting ready just to get a buck at 20 yards. I know kids who only go into the woods during deer gun season and kill up to 5 deer in a week and it invlolves very little skill. If im scouting my bum off and practicing archery everday and its worth the same as the city slicker who walks into the woods and shoots the buck at 300 yards then something is wrong.
Then again, it is a contest just for fun
so maybe im overeacting

I think no, there shouldnt be any extra point. What about shotgun hunters? What about pistol hunters? And not everyone bow hunts. I do both, and i've only got one deer to show for 3 years of hunting in ohio, mostly because i pass shots, yes. but i've had more chances at deer bowhunting then gun hunting. I still feel it's making bowhunting sound better than gun hunting. I support both, but i feel they should be equalized. and most "kids" cant draw back enought draw weight to shoot deer with bows anyhow. i'm 14 and i can draw 70 pounds, but i'm big for 14. some kids here that are 11, 12 cant do that. I say equal points, but i'm not participating in this one, i'm just voicing my opinion. It's your call
