I showed this to daddy and he said he used one when he was in the Army from 62 to 65. He says it was called the M14 then. He also says it was a truly awesomely excellent rifle.

He also doesn't want to rain on your parade, but says that you should be aware that you can't hunt with a semi-automatic rifle in Michigan that holds more than six rounds in barrel and magazine combined.

You could check and see if there are five round magazines available for it.

We have an SKS and daddy got a five round magazine for it if we ever wanted to use it for deer hunting. He says they probably make them for the M14.

He suggests you check with MidwayUSA or Brownells or maybe even Sportsmansguide.

Nice - daddy says it's a really great rifle and you'll really love it. He says he used it for deer hunting in Korea and it's very accurate.
