If we didn't deer hunt the car/deer accident rate would nearly quadruple (sp?)

like said before, keeps wildlife population in check. This of all of the CWD cases we would have or other diseases if the deer pop. wasn't controlled. More animals need more food. Food is somewhat of a limited supply. once it gone, it takes time for it to come back.

Whoever said the money used for licenses goes to the state/province is true. This money goes to purchasing and upkeeping public hunting ground. Also goes toward conservation.

I had to do a report similar to yours

Ya in my area we've had to give farmers extra licenses to keep the deer population done.

Some pros are that if us hunters werent around to control the animal population lots of farmers crops could be destroyed and ranchers could have an increase in losing livestock due to the large numbers or predators. The meat is also alot more healthy and less corrupted as opposed to beef. Also the revenue that hunting and fishing contributes to the economy is crazy. I know that just here in Alberta fishing brings in somewhere around 33 million dollars a year so it really helps the economy out too.
