They're right - the mom gets shot... You might have been remembering the part where Bambi himself gets shot (during the forest fire) and confusing that with the dad getting shot.

Yeah - I'm 20 years old and can still tell you nearly anything about disney movies... *laughs* Anymore questions, lemme know. ;-)

I don't remember him getting shot or shot at during the fire, then again I don't know anyone who would try to hunt in middle of a forest fire either :D

i watched that movie a couple months ago just cause i found it in our cabinet and i haven't seen it in a while. the mom gets shot, and so does bambi eventually. he dont die though. Fewww...

the mom got shot, then there was a huge forest fire becuse of the hunters and bambi got shot but the difference was he lived and the mom died, and then bambi and some little doe named feline got together and had twin babies

actually you never really see who gets shot...it shows all the deer running then you only see bambi by himself and you hear a shot then you assume that his mother died because she was the last one he was with and now he is sad. it never shows or says she got shot and died....she could have ran away haha ;)but yeah you never really see his dad except maybe like once..but the mom "dies" ha
