my worst day was 11-12-05 i was pushing a peice with my dad and my friend and my other friend had to leave with his dad and we were pushing this swamp piece and we kinda knew this peice was to big for 3 people but we tried neways so i was pushing and my dad was sitin and i jumped a 10 pointer and it took off to my right to an open pit and it got past my dad and we where tracking it and we were following it up a hill and we here a shot and another hunter had it run rite two him, and he blasted. ANd we were gonna put my friend that had left rite where the deer ran across[:@]

i jumped a 12 pointer this one day and i couldn't get set in time to shoot.

hey...mine was 11-12-05 too.....it was bad for me through because it was the last day of the PA early archery season:(

Youth season last year when I missed a 8 pt, my first time to shoot at a buck, theres no worse feeling than missing!

Then there was the time when I forgot the lock for my 870 when I went dove hunting, Remington has these stupid little green trigger locks for their shotguns, and I just so happened to forget it on opening day, its not much fun being the bird dog

This didn`t happen to me but someone at my hunting club shot at a 11 pointer with droptine and some how missed.Instead the hit another 8 point (a bachelor party walked out on him).He spent the whole week off looking for it and never found it.

Sometimes in November 2 years ago (not sure exact date) but I heard a deer coming and getting closer only to find out that it was a bunch of squirrels playing under my stand.

last day of spring turkey in pa last year. went out at 6 didnt see anything and i feel asleep so i walked back to cabin with dad at about 7 i was woken up by a gun shot my dad shot a turkey of the front deck

I've shared this before. 3-4 years ago was bow hunting, on the ground in some tall weeds, and had been watching a large group of does work their way down the tree line towards me. I was running out of light but they were about 60 yards away and I thought I might get a shot off. All of a sudden they all look up, off to my left and then.....give a white-flag salute. I was dumb-founded, the wind hadn't swirled or shifted, they never looked in my direction...and I've never seen them be THAT weary of coyotes. Minute or two later see a guy walking down the creek line to my left.[:@][:@][:@][:@] Know what is words were when he saw me? (In great enthusiasm) "Hey, did you see all those does?" All I could was say "yeah" and dream of shooting him in the leg[:@]

Youth day in maryland, this year. I was out for about 5 hours, and missed a nice 6 point. Also! Yesterday, november 26th, I was out for 7 hours in 30 degree weather and not once seen a deer. I was madder then a 3 legged dog trying to bury a crap on an icy lake >.<

Personally I think the worst hunting days are when you're sick. yeah Missing seeing a huge buck and what not really sucks. But, alright see this you sitting in your tree stand its a nice winter day. Its freezing out. No wind. Everything perfect except you have a bad cold but you know theres been a big 8 pointer around your stand so you go out anyway with gods will. So alright its about 5:30 am your big 8 point comes walking out you got a great shot for him. Right in the lungs. You Draw. Aim....You sneeze. Nice right. You try to cover up the sneeze by not sneezing but that muffled noise..spooks the deer...he takes off...this happened to a hunting buddy of mine. really Sucks right.

It was late october and i just got in my shoothouse when a fairly good
six steped out so i pulled up my 7mm08 and......CLICK nuttin happend
i forgot my shells at the house.

well, one mornin a doe stepped out, and i threw up the ol 30-30 and pulled the trigger, and it wasn't cocked. duh!

probably the worst day was actually the worst season, it was the season after I had just got a Remington Model 700 .270 for my birthday all sighted in, hunted all buck/doe season and the first day shot off 2 rounds at some does bout 300 yards out...missed...sprayed some dirt on em though. rest of the season and doe season I never saw a thing. very discouraging. the next year I fell asleep, low and behold does ran around everywhere that day. dad shot at one and missed. always a kick when u wake up to a gun shot. also was sittin lookin one way a nice ole buck comes walkin up on my left, and dang, no bullet in the chamber... get off 3 shots through some trees and miss every time. then i shot a clueless doe who came around 10 minutes after those shots.

My worst hunting day was yesturday actually. It was snowing kinda hard and i was bowhunting and 5 doe were eating acorns about 50 yards away when an absolute monster steps out. He will go 175-180 easy. Mainframe 10 point, both his g2's were forked at the ends and to top it all off he had to huge droptines rightnext to each other on his right side! Once in a lifetime buck. But anyway hes coming right to me! i draw back my bow for the 30 yard shot, i stop him and shoot.....................i hit a tree not even a inch around as the arrow was heading right for the kill zone.:(lets just say i wasnt very happy.

opening day this year, it wasn't cold enough for snow but windy enough for me to be cold. my older cousin pissed around and didn't get a lience or shells.
no one got any deer that day and i was harassed by squirels.
my one stud came out of the stock on my 270 while my cousin was using it, he also accidently drove the muzzel into the dirt, what a dumbass.
anyway other than than the two times i got lost or was sick that was the worst day. [&o][X(]

well, every day during deer season was the worst day of my hunting career. every day,i saw deer, but they were all running, not a single standing one. and if i wasnt shooting at deer, i was freezing my A*S off. i shot 11 shots and killed 0 deer.

first day archery elk, I walked about a mile spook up cows that were 3 yeards infront of me I missed a standing cow at about 3 yards I guess I was just shaking so bad lol. About another mile or 2 I walked up on a decent 5by5 and shot right over his back perfectly aligned with kill zone and that was my worst day hunting but still was fun I love the outdoors!!!

id be glad to even get a chance to hunt elk legally. here in PA, you might as well just donate the money to the PGC, with what the chances of getting one are.

It was my fourth year of bowhunting. I had killed my first deer a year earlier in the same spot I was in on this particular hunt. At about45 minutes before dark a HUGE 12 pointer stepped out. My arrow sailed over his back at 20 yards. I was sick to my stomach. My dad was watching the it unfold 100 yards away through binocs and said he was most likely a Booner. I don't want to guess his score, because I'm not to sure what he would of went.Come the next week we are heading home afteran afternoon of hunting and saw the same deer in the middle of the road. And then the next year one of my dads friends who has hunted all over the country came over for a visit and saw him out ina field. He said it was one of the largest whitetails he has ever seen pushing about 180. Later that year my friend missed a shot at about 40yards at him and I saw him walking on a ridge about 75 yards away. This was3 years ago and no one has seen him since.

Fast forward to my second worse day and it found me sitting in the same stand. A large 8 pointer that I had been hunting walked out in front of me at what I thought was 30 yards. WhenI shot, my arrow went right under his belly. When I paced the distance off it was at 37 so tough luck I guess.

Was out hunting english sparrows and starlings in SE, PA an out comes a nice looking 11 point with drop tines on the left. Too bad it wasn't deer season.
