RE: What caliber rifle do you all think is the best
Up here in Ontario, a 30-06 will take down anything to 350 yards-moose, black bear, and whitetail. But only if you're a good shot. By the way, I've never taken a shot that far,but I know some guys on other forums who have.

i'm gonna go with the good ole 30-06. i would take the 06 over a 7mm any day. just me though. it'll take anything in north america and most other animals in the world.

For what i hunt, conditions, and what i plan on hunting in the future, .300 WSM, just as good if not better than the 300 win mag ballistically(correct me if im wrong, im trying to remember what i found on chuckhawks), and has less recoil, not to mention shorter action( I know some ppl dont care about that, but i do a little). I just wish Remington carried them in their wood stock rifles like the BDL, last time i checked it was only in the SPS and the XCR.

I figure this is going to turn into a big argument, but I love my handy .243, gets the job done on the smaller Texas deer we got, as most dont go over 100 or 120 dressed

30.06 is the best all around gun hands down but my favorite is a .270(i owen one)b/c they have good ballistics andis a fast but larger(big enough for deer and so on)caliber.it can be used anywere from coyote to elk ,and maybe more or less
