.357 mag

How is this .357 mag and how hard do they kick. I have shotten a 38special, but
how hard to they kick compared to the .38special.

It dpends on the load and bullet used. Generally, it'll have more recoil than a 38 spc load from the same gun.

RE: .357 mag

i've shot 38's and the mag's through the same gun before. there is a little bit of difference. i don't think it's all that bad though imo. i was shooting a sixshooter and my friend had put 5 38's and 1 357 in it and let me shoot it. like i said there is a bit of difference, and you will be able to tell. but it isn't that bad. you don't have much to worry about that's for sure. unless the bullet weight and load are extremely different then it would probably be more noticable.

well... the trick is not to be stupid... i wasn't tightening my arms enough and it almost came back and clocked me on the head lol...

its a pretty tough kick i think... haven't shot one in years though...

why do you want to know??? i hope you're not planning to hunt with it lol... it makes a really big hole lol

I'm not planing to hunt with it. It is for when I go bow hunting in Colorado
for elk and I need a little protection from that big old bear we have up
at the camp.

The recoils isnt all that bad. You'll get use to it. Just hold on.

The recoil really isn't that bad at all once you get used to it. If you're looking for a pistol for protection in the woods that leaves a big hole and has very little kick, I'd suggest a .44 Magnum. I've got one and wouldn't trade it for any other pistol available.

I would also recommend a .44 mag. If you ever choose to hunt with it then a .44 is a much better choice than a .357. And if you meet a bear you won't be disappointed to be carrying a 44.

i would definately take the 44 over the 357. you can get +ps to but in it but it still won't be as powerful as the 44. you can practice with the 44 specials though and load up with the full power loads when you're out. you won't notice the extra kick if you do have to use it.
