Just curious, but what is a polot?

We are trying some micro plots also this year and they are very easy to manage. The deer are hanging out on them pretty good. We placed them along the travel routes between the bedding areas and a 60 sorghum and wheat plot that we planted. We are lucky because we are able to view the fields from 1/2 mile off from an oil lease. I think being able to watch the deer like this is going to pay off more than the plots when the season rolls around.

jaygee; I'm not trying to be mean but I think the answer to timbercruiser's question is a plot with 1 extra right upper index finger thrown in.

jaygee; what did you plant?

jaygee,

I am putting in three smaller food polots (sorry plots - <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>) this fall with rye as a cover and ladino clover mixed in at about 6-8 lbs/acre. They are all about 1/3 acre and are situatud to be good kill plots which I will share time hunting over so as not to over expose one plot. I have already killed the green vegetation and next I will get them limed & fertilized. Then comes the work - plowing, seeding, discing and that dreaded rock pickin. Good luck with yours - I am anxious to get mine in to hunt over with my bow.

jaygee; sorry there supposed to be a &quot;not&quot; in my message. My fingers are screwed up.

lunchbucket; with all the access you have to seed mixtures, what are you going to be hunting over?

The title &quot;high racks&quot; didn't ring a bell with me. With all the new products on the market the word &quot;polot&quot; sounded like another one of them. Honestly, not trying to sound like a SA.

Fortunately, or unfortunatley, deer season to us is like Christmas season for Santa.... Everybody wants to see us during the 2 week gun season in Michigan. The clubs and ranches come together and everyone wants a seminair the night of opening day. We are in the process of planning the Nov. 15th day and the week after. We'll be 50 - 100 yds off a forage field somewhere in the Great State of Michigan.
