Jaygee, I hunt in Richland county. We just purchased 80 acres and finished the hunting shack (cabin) 2 weeks ago. We have seen as many as 15 different does in one night. Have only seen one buck all year. We are guessing that the previous owners shot every buck they saw but never shot a doe. Guess this year with earn-a-buck we will be thinning the does a little. Should be a good spot for bucks later in the rut because all the does live there. This year will be quite the learning experience. Like I mentioned earlier we are going to do food plots next year. That I am really looking forward to. My son is 14 and this will be his first year with a bow. He is dead on with his Hoyt MT Sport up to about 25 yards. Can't wait to see his face when he gets his first one. Good luck to you and don't miss the opener.

wihunter402,
Good Luck to your son! You put a doe in the freezer and leave that nice 10 point P&Y that is bound to be chasing all your does come rut to your son <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Lucnhbucket,
You got me wondering also!

Guess I never really thought about shinning. That is a great idea. We will try that soon. I'm sure there are bucks we just haven't seen them yet. Oh and amosgreg, I would love for him to get that. I think I am now at that point where I enjoy his success more then my own. I still love to hunt, I just love to see him be successful. Good luck to all of you.

Dan, I thought you were descibing my plot until you mentioned the permissons.

I think lunchbucket is hunting over one of the new biologic plots, and thats the reason he's not very forthcoming....?

Actually, I'd bet on a &quot;new mix&quot; one we haven't seen yet, maybe some chicory in it, but clover based.

farm hunter; you've got it made if that's your set up. Now all you need is a few persimmon trees. The best variety is called &quot;Early Golden&quot;. They're big and ripen from mid Sept. until mid Oct. Sweet as sugar when they ripen.

You're probably right about lunchbucket. At least he's pretesting the products before he recommends them. It's toooooo badddd heee won'ttttt letttt usssss innnn onnnn hissss secretttt!!!!!!!
