Heres a pic. my 6 year old son took of me standing in front of the tractor why I was sewing the seeds. I got all the seeds in the ground over the labor day weekend. Now that I can post some pics I will get updated pics of the progress so far.

Looks very promising! By the way, how do you cover your seeds after spreading them. I see you have the disc connected to the tractor. I assume you disced and spread? What do you use to cover the seed up (pictures).
Thanks!
Thanks!

When I seed a lawn I have a piece of chainlink fence 8 x8 and I float the seed with that. If not available take an old bedspring or page wire fence or a leaf rake if you feel ambitious, I have used a rake to cover lawns before. Good looking site there , old MF tractor hard to beat , also that 6 yr old chap is a pretty good photographer, steadyt hand. got the subject centered , got the detail good, might go with National Geographic when old enough..

Thanks Ron. I have seen the 'fence' method before, so I will try it for my next project.
Only thing that kept me from trying it was that I was scared that the seeds will gather at the end of the fence and just pile up? Is that possible?

ILL BUCK -
Thanks for posting pictures - its always great to see how others plant.
First - I REALLY like the tractor - around here those older Farmalls are getting a little scarce!
Second - I see you disked, and did not plow - Did you spray Roundup too? - If not - how do you find that the Buck Forage Oats competes with the existing sod that sprouts back?
Good luck with you fall season - I hope you'll post back pictures once the plots are established - and also - hopefully - some pictures of your deer you take.

IR655, the buck oats I disc them in per instructions. They say to plant 1 to 2 inches on them. Then the bio logic and shot plot said just to drive over it with a 4 wheeler or a roller. I used a lawn roller and went over everything (even the buck oats).
Farm hunter, no I did not plow or spray round up. I have had very good luck with the buck oats in the past like this. I will go out tomorrow and take some pics and you will see that the oats do quite well planting like this with little to no weed problems! I do have to go over the plots several times with the disc and I put 80lb tractor wieghts on th disc too to help cut up the sod.
Oh by the way, thats an old massy harris tractor model 50.

655 if you drag a piece of fence dont get a stick caught up in it or it will drag the seed around, just keep an eye on it , I if it has rained on the seed before you had a chance to drag over it DONT because the seed might have sprouted and you will kill it by tearing the little roots out . ILL Buck I meant Massey Harris not MF, we used to have a MH 101 and a MH 44.....
