Rain - How long
I planted rye and buckwheat around my corn fields for a variety for the whitetails, and at that time it was supposed to rain the next four days. Well it rained about an 1/8 of an inch and has not rained since.
Did I loose the seeds and need to replant, or is an 1/8" enough. It has been 1 1/2 weeks since I planted them. We are expected to get rain for the next week here in Michigan, so should I wait or replant...

RE: Rain - How long
I am not very familiar with buckwheat, but people around here plant rye for cattle grazing in place of hard red winter wheat. They plant and just wait for a rain. In this part of Texas, it can be a while. When sufficient rain finally falls and soil moisture reaches germination requirments, the rye will come on up. I wouldn't worry unless you have a decent rain and then nothing happens.
