I have noticed a peculiar thing this spring. I have a food plot on a hilltop in some pines. We had a lot of large Pines cut 2 yrs. ago including 6 that were in this plot. Three of the stumps in the middle of the plot have the tops completely covered with droppings and I can't seem to spot any on the ground. I have another spot that I have been cleaning to plant more forage and there are two stumps there with droppings on them. Has anybody noticed this behavior of the deer?

If these are rabbits, then I won't use a shotgun, I'll use my deer rifle.
(The pellets are elongated, not round.) This is the first time I have seen this, maybe because I haven't paid attention and noticed this before when I was scouting through the timber.

No Camtracker here. But I will take a picture of the stumps and post it if I can figure out how to get it posted. Did check the stumps today and now there is so many droppings that they are starting to cover the fround around one of the stumps.

No way, Sawbill. It's beginning to look like a deer yard. But just by the stumps. There is another stump near the salt lick with droppings around it. guess they're aim isn't so good at this one. Sorry if I am late with this followup, our phone lines were cut by a road construction crew. Been out all day. Wife has a cell phone, but that don't help the 'puter. Did take photos of the stumps, now have to get them uploaded.

If I did this right, there should be some pictures of the stumps. I hope this is it. There is a second picture at this site.
