Marking Out Sanctuary Boundaries
#1
What would drive people to think up and go forth with an idea to post signs that clearly spell out your sanctuary boundaries? This caught my eye in the reading of the book I mentioned in the other post.
I think this is stupid, anyone else agree?
Talk about giving trespassers a blue ribbon semi-guided trip into your woods with a carefree approach void of the notion they will be bothered by land managers and pointing out a prime peace of real estate with high probability of scoring on un-pressured whitetails.[:@]
I’ve heard idiots say things like, “posted signs are an invitation to good hunting property.” These same types of people would cream at the sight of these signs!
I have a novel idea! Instead of the little white signs that say “Sanctuary Keep Out” with a slash threw a nice size buck on it. Why don’t we spell out that there’s good hunting beyond this point and we don’t hunt or patrol it? While we’re at it we could maybe even add a few drop tines on the buck that appears on the sign as well. You know, just to sweeten the pot a little.
They did mention marking trees with a dot of paint as an alternative and I believe that’s a much smarter move. Some might say, “Paint doesn’t last.” Well it’s easy to maintain and doesn’t spill the beans!

You are supposed to put your sanctuary areas in the inner portions of your property. That said, it is also important to minimize trespassing by being as stern as possible and letting it be known that trespassing on your property will not be tolerated! Lastly, it is best to have your sanctuaries marked so no one who is allowed to hunt there makes the "mistake" of hunting where the deer feel safe. TGK

The marking of sanctuary boundries is to give the land owner and their invited guests a visual aid to the "KEEP OUT" zone. We suggest the some luminus pieces be used and hunting on the outskirts during the season so as to patrol...
