for me for hunting season, a mixed plot of soybeans and corn wins, and always pulls deer, and can be rather cheap to plant if you know a few things, it also offers cover and IMO helps deer to come to earlier in shooting hours at times
but can be more challenging to hunt, pending your set up options!
But honestly there is NO BEST food plot, as deer typically eat what they like at "X" time of yr, and a lot of this depends on what are the available food sources in your area
a lot of times, having something different can attract deer to your site on that alone, but then again, if others have better lay out of the land, for safety and larger food/water cover, , they may just stay there over a premium more attractive food, as safety is a big part of any wild animals game!
and most know they can travel at night safer and eat at a plot that is there 24/7!
