Default soybeans

i have access to some roundup ready soybeans that i am told are untreated and could be used to supplement my deer feeding. i always thought if they were roundup ready they were also treated for planting in which case they would not be suitable for feed. anyone have any insight into this?

The roundup ready trait is a gene inside of the soybean, not a coating. Any bean harvested from a field of RR soybeans probably has the RR gene. If the beans were not roasted after harvest, they are probably viable. It is also illegal to plant a RR soybean not purchased from a Monsanto licensed supplier.

We planted a round up ready soy bean in a 30 acre plot and have not harvested it. The deer & turkey flood it every day. We have taken several very nice bucks while they were feeding in the beans. They eat the stuff like crazy. 163bc
