Default Oats Plots Are Maturing

When the grain ripens the quail and turkeys hit the oats plots.

This plot is about 1/5 acre. It was planted in 2009 and was never re-planted. It's lightly disked under in about early September after a rain. Last year the plot was lightly fertilized at time of planting. These are Chilocco oats. Chilocco oats are planted around Amarillo, TX and are freeze resistant. This plot has never frozen out or been damaged by frost.
