A log or on the dirt is both good. I would look into something that contains a good proportion of mag, phos, k, calcium and chelated trace minerals plus vitamins which are lacking this time of year. Trace mineral salt does very little for deer other than to get their salt crave fixed. I have a great product I Your interested that is formulated for increased body growth and antler development. Not just to have them show up at your stump to get their salt fix.
