coolbrzeO remember that if you have an acre food plot you will probably need 3 or 4 TONS of lime. You could probably put 6 or 8 hundred pounds of loose lime in the backend of a pickup. Consider the feasibility of this.

Guys, the information we often see on the is and soil pH is a bit misleading or at least confusing.

Siol ph and lime can be most simply understood as a chemical reaction. Its a function of acids and bases in the soil. All forms of lime are involved in the reaction process. All forms of lime start out as limestone. And pelletized vs liquid vs powder vs ag lime....all those have been mechanically worked on to speed the reaction. The actual neutralizing ability is substantially the same, the time it takes to react is the difference. From that you can see if its " fast" it will be done reacting sooner and if its slow, it will react and work over a longer period of time.

Dont get all worked up over the form of lime you use. Do a soil test, add the required lime in whatever form, and then retest every 2-3 years.

Its really not worth the trouble to try to find the miracles...and when someone tells you they have a miracle....run!
