Smile My first real foodplot

Ive tied some small spot foodplots before without any success using my garden tiller out in the woods. Last week I found an old disk for sale on craigs list. Yesterday I disked up an area with my tractor app 30 yards wide by 80 yards long. The area is along my back field next to a wooded swampy area where sometimes deer bed. Today I limed and fertilized the area with triple 12 and broadcast winter rye and will try to lightly disk or pull my harrow rake with the ATV the same area tomorrow. I also have some Evolved Harvest Pro Graze which has Rape, Turnip, clover and some chickory which I will apply after that and then just run the ATV over that so I dont bury that seed too deep...Supposed to rain the day after that so maybe I'll have some luck with it! Not too much effort on my part , Hope it grows !!

I use a small cedar tree or a top of a larger one to cover my plot, it works good, doesnt cost anything and you avoid the compaction of the soil.

I use a length of chain and drag behind the disc from side to side. and with the disc up it does a nice job covering the seed and level te loose dirt.
