Default Lots of hard work....finally paid off

We cleared, tilled, graded, and finally planted two seperate plots on this piece. It was an old abandoned hay and corn pasture. Here is the steps it took.

Myonly problem with the remote area is any weed prevention, simply no way to get to it, and not sure what to put down that wont harm the planting,

So far we have Sweet corn, sweet beets, turnip, clover and chickory. This is our clover plot in its 3rd year after the project.
, Here is how it came to fruition:

The plots look great Hardwoodhank. It would be a shame to let the weeds take over. What weeds in what crop are you interested in controlling? Would an ATV mounted sprayer with booms similar to this work for you? http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...&cm_ite=cabela

[QUOTE=Soilman;3626932] What weeds in what crop are you interested in controlling?QUOTE]

Im not that good at identifying most of the weeds, but typical dandelions, crab, and about a dozen otheres. Souther states sid I had a problem because most kill the clover. I have access to 55 gallon drums, generator, pumps and hoses, but dont want to kill the clover

Poast herbicide will take care of the grasses in your clover without damaging it, but it wont kill any of the broadleaves in your plot, as far as the sweet corn goes atrizine is about the only herbicide that can be sprayed on sweet corn

Poast is very good for controlling grass in clover. Butyrac can kill broadleaf weeds in clover. Mowing the weeds a few times during the summer will help a lot as well.

It can be tough to control weeds in sweet corn. Atrazine is good if you can use it, and if you can get it (tends to be restricted use). Other options are 2,4-d for broadleaf weeds, prowl/lasso are good if you can get them on before the weeds germinate.
