What Would Be the Perfect Food Plot?
#1
If you could plant the "perfect" food plot and cost was not a factor, what would you plant? I know that different areas have different agricultural products that the deer in that area would be accustomed to, but tell us what you would plant to draw deer in year round.
Mine I think would be: Turnips, chickory, sweet soybeans, and clover mix.

If money was no object? Well, I'd have twenty of the BIGGEST white oak trees that could be moved, replanted in my clearing. THAT would excite me.
. Food plots? Feeders? Forget it. Bears are killing me

Deer seem to like the Buck Forage oats, rye, wheat, and Big Buck Blend clovermix I plant every year. But I've always wanted to try some brassicas and chicory down there, andmight do itthis year if I can get some buddies to throw in some money. If I had the money, first I would buy the best farm equipment made. ThenI would plant the entire 60 or so acres of fields with BioMaxx round-up ready corn and soybeans during the summer, and fall I would plant it all with the same stuff I usenow plusbrassicas and chicory added. I'd also plant two different 5 acre plotsof chufas, one at each end of the property, and see how many turkeys would come from miles around. Now THAT would get me going!

In a PERFECT world, it would be a couple oak trees on a finger of a ridge deep inthe forestwith frost on the ground with a couple does and fawns around to keep me company until he shows. Maybe a little ice on the face mask would make it better. Ah yes, definitely the perfect food plot.

A secluded 5 acre field in the middle of the woods sounds good, to me. I'd like for it to contain some species that would hold deer there, thorughout the fall and winter.
It would be really cool if it also had a ground blind nearby.....and you could hunt it every day with Selma Hayek.
