I put mine out a couple months ago. I have the trophy rocks. They work great.

Check your states regualtions first. For example Michigan doesn't allow mineral blocks until bow season starts.

Sure, if possible why not keep minerals out all year. As soon as the season is over the bucks are shedding antlers getting ready to restart growth of velvet and the bucks are also stressed from the rut. The does are bred and may need supplemental minerals also. It's just easier to keep the minerals out year round to help the herd if they want a lick.

I agree with timbercruiser. Keep them out. Those trophy rocks I use, when moved will still have activity at the site. I've left mine in a certain spot for a month or 2 and after a few good rains and deer lickings, it will soak down in the soil and they will return to that spot and dig to get it. Even if I take whats left of the rock and move it. I will keep using them as long as they are sold.
