Good luck with it, but I'm not convinced most summer plots do a lot of good. I would concentrate on the natural vegetation and improving bedding/cover areas and get the plots ready for the fall planting.

I planted 1 clover plot 6yrs ago. It got hammered by deer, and come fall whenthe other vegetation was brown & dying. My clover plot stayed nice & green. My area see's 3-4ft snow average. In spring the plot was full of deer s**t from being usedover thewinter months when snow depths allowed it. That plot is now on its way out, so I planted 2 new myself past wknd. 1 with Alfa-Rack, 2nd with Chicory. I'll redo the original next season.

We plant summer plots in an effort to keep the deer on our places. It works pretty well too. Inearly September the summer plots will disked up and planted with oats and turnips. Some of the oats plots are allowed to mature for the quail and turkeys.

What made you choose this blend for your foodplots? Seems more like a bird mix than a deer plot???
