Depends on how big the trees are when you plant them. A good pair of 8' trees should start producing in a couple of years. That's my experience anyway.

Good luck!

Depends on where you buy and where you live. Check around several different stores to find what you want at the best price.

It'll depend on how old they are when you plant them. If you are thinking of doing it this year, get a soil analysis done right away. You may have to fertilize/lime the area which needs to be done pretty much now. Soils analysis takes about two weeks. We just finishedliming and prunningmy apples this past weekend. Also make sure the trees get plenty of sun.

BTW, deer love to browse shoots, so keep them protected.

In good soil an apple tree takes seven years to produce apples. You will need a male tree and a female tree and bees around to pollanate. I use an organic insectaside on mine to keep bugs and worms away. Good luck

RE: apple trees

An 8' tree will already be several years old. I know at our last place, we planted two peach, two apple, and two pear, all 6 - 8' tall. The next year they all produced, not a lot, but produced. The following year double the previous year. The third year, we had more fruit than we knew what to do with.
