How much would you pay?
I have a foodplot business in Wisconsin. I'm looking at changing prices for the upcomeing season making it more affordable for the average person to afford. Without looking at fuel charges, what would you pay to have someone put in at least one acre of foodplots?

It would probably vary greatly depending on what you were planting. Grass seed is getting really expensive now as well as fertilizer. I think it would be very hard to have a set price per acre on something like that.

I pay a guy $100 per acre to run a heavy disc thru them and then in two or three weeks he uses a grain drill to plant whatever I want planted, usually Buck Forage Oats with a white clover applied with his small grain applicator.. I supply seed and fertilizer. I can't do it any cheaper and I don't have to pick up a single sack of anything.

I agree with TC - $100.00/acre is about right to plow and/or disc and plant. I'd supply the gas, seeds and fertilizer. I'd pay extra to put down Lime. Honestly its probably not enough still - but I think you'll have a tough time getting much more.
When we started in 1999 -
I paid a local farmer $200 to plow, and $200 to disk and another $200 to plant about 10 acres. At the time I felt like it was a heck of a deal since the soils were all sod.

I work for some guys that are pretty big farmers (6,000 acres ) and our corn costs of production for 07 was $535. per acre... tlhat includes land rent, seed, fert, spray, labor, fuel, harvest costs, etc.....those costs will increase in 08 , due to an increase in seed costs and fert costs...
