i always bury mine, usually only about two in. of dirt over top will do.

I don't get it why you guys burry them..I never...they always burry themselves...I'll have to get a pic of the main Block Spot!

yes bury..a great way to do it is bury and leave just the top exposed...it works very well

:eek:yeah, I got ask too; why are you burrying them? Are you hiding them from the law?I have always just put them on the ground and when it's gone the deer dig their own hole?

the main reason why we bury them is that they seem to last longer when burried,the elements(especially rain)seem to really eat at them. from my experience the deer seem to really get on them more if they are buried.not hiding them from the law.

That is interesting......I'll try it to compare with the ones we don't bury. I see what you are doing. Yes, the rain disolves the blocks rather quickly but then the deer paw up the ground where it melted. What you are doing is probably better from the standpoint of you get a more even distribution of the block over time.I'll bury the next one.

hiding from the law?? a lick is legal in the tri states that i hunt..private ground. it is rare
thatu will shoot a deer over a lick anyway

I always find a wrotten stump and put it on. Seems like they lick the stump more than the block, but they do both. Never have buried one. I mainly use the trace mineral block from Tractor Supply, but occasionally put some sort of molasses topper on a fresh block in new locations.
