RE: sorghum
I planted some sorghym last year on the edges of my plots as a small transition from woods to open fields. The deer didn't feed on it too much, but it did give them more security. I saw more deer than ever feeding in my plots. There are also a couple areas in my plots that are not enclosed by woods. The sorghum worked perfectly at fully enclosing the plot. Once a good freeze came in early November, it died and began to fall so I lost my totally enclosed plot, but the game birds did love the fallen stalks for nesting.
