So, bake545 what did you end up getting?

I am also looking for a set of discs. They will be pulled by a 1950 AllisWD (not a WD45). It pulls a 2 bottom plow well but I need a better set of discs than the old 8' pull behind set I have now. I can't adjust them much and so they don't dig in very well. Plus, they aren't too heavy.

I was interested in knowing if the 3 point discs work well and if they are rugged. It would be very convienent to just pick 'em up and go. I am also concerned that when Iget in some of softer areas on the slope I'll be working, I may get stuck. If I could lift the discs whenI start to sink I'm hoping I could get out of trouble. You can't back up with pull behind discs.

Also, has anyone had any experience with the above tractor or similar (about30 HP at drawbar) pulling a set of 10' transport discs?

We're in the process of getting the KK disk but haven't gotten it yet, should in a few weeks. Found a guy who had one and a cultipacker for $1500 delivered. Couldn't pass up the price. Sorry I couldn't be more help. And I'd be a little leary of pulling a heavy transport disk with that tractor. I'd either look for a smaller set of disks or a bigger tractor.

What part of PA are you in? I live in Westmoreland but our hunting property is in Armstrong.

Yes, I think the transport discs may be too much, but my neighbor has a 10' set I thought I may try; just afraid I'll get out in the field and then get stuck. There won't be other tractors around to get me out.

I'm in NW PA, south of Erie in Crawford County.

This is my ancient disk. Bought it for $150. This thing is heavy. Had to narrow the hitch to fit my small tractor.
