Thanks for the reply on my question about thorn apple. Do remember hearing and/or reading about the Hawthorn. Never would have equated it with thorn apple.
I'm from Western NY in Dunkirk. Have a sister,brother-in-law that live in Caz. Have even done some bowhunting there. One of my best "Kodak Memories" happened on the east side of Caz when I snuck in a hedge row on some geese, only to be awed by the show 3 bucks put on for me trying to see who was dominant. Wish I had a movie camera.
Anyway - based on the number of posts you have in this forum, hope I can count on you for some advice when I get around to planting some food plots. Thanks again.

Its always nice to see some "locals" on the board. Welcome, and sure I'd be glad to offer advice where I can, maybe you can advise me as well. I think I may have been wrong about it being called "American Hawthorn" as it appears to have a European Origin.
I thought I'd post some links on Hawthorn, I find reading up on specific natural browse species, helps me immensely in deciding which trees to leave, how to fertilize, etc.
