Tooth wear is really a tool for placing individual deer in a cohort or age class (ie age zero-two, two-four etc) and really isn't good at estimating the actual age to year, while cementum annuli isa more accurate method that can place individuals age by year.

Thanks BrutalAttack - That confirms the information I have seen. From what I am reading cementum annuli has about a 90% accuracy rate fordeer in my area. I have found a few labs on the internet to choose from and I may giveit a try next season.
Thanks all!
