I would go with the 308 in one of the short stock rifles.

All are very great calibers which will handle the job. I would go with the .30-06 or 7mm mag because I have seen them take a small doe to a huge elk with no problem at all. Although the .30-06 has been my favorite caliber I am really impressed with the 7mm mag and it will most likely be my go to caliber for the majority of big game.

I think all three would do the job but I prefer short actions so the 308 would have my vote.

308 is all you would ever need for those critters. I am not a 7MM Rem Mag fan at all.

I like my .270 also. What you use probably has something to do with specific hunting conditions, but any of them will kill a deer if you do your job with shot placement.

another vote for the tried and true .308. it will be more than capable of handling deer/hog plus almost every other North American big game. The 7mm is good to, but I would use the 308. Good luck with your choice.

All good choices so pick which ever you want. I personally use a 7mm rem mag for everything I hunt(Lope, deer, moose and elk) and it has performed excellent in all avenues.

Best of luck.

I use both the .308 and 7MM RM on deer, and I really think that the .308 does a better job!
