I am thinking about purchasing Delmore's Topo Map 4.0 software... I was wondering if anyone had it, and if they were impressed with it. Did you find it useful...??

Good Luck and let us know what you do!

I have checked out those sites and they are useful, however this Map software looks to be rather detailed and if it can give me details down to creeks and some elevations and I can print a large format drawing of my land and where stands, trails, creeks are it would be very useful....
If you have not seen it check out this link... It's a long link you might have to copy and paste it...

hvyhitter19,
http://www.delorme.com/topousa/default.asp
is the site for v 4.0 and it has the capabilty to download and view 10 meter photos of the area. Landnet photos go down to 1 meter. I didn't check out Terrafly but I believe they have 2 meter photo resolution. Now if you want the ability to print out large custom maps then I'd say that makes sense to go with the 49.99 version and 1 geographical area.
If you are also using a GPS then it makes sense as well. but if you are looking at it from the topo map point of view they use pretty much the same quadrangles (USGS) as you can buy from the state you live in or any number of sites.
I have not sean any difference in maps from several sites when comparing areas I know. Photos are a little different as to when the last set was taken and those dates are shown on the different servers with the photo information.

I don't know what your definition of large format drawings are, but my idea of large format is 22 x 34. I have this software (it may be the last version) and love it. But the biggest I could print out was 11 x 17. You can print multiple sheets and tape them together, but thta wouldn't look as good as one big document. I was really disappointed when I couldn't print them out really big, but other benefits of the software make it well worth the money!!

IL_Bow... I am not positive that I can print large format drawings but I am in the computer business and have the capabilites to print up to 34"x44" Along with some serious image editing tools, so I figured whatever I can get on my screen I should be able to print...
I went ahead and ordered the software, I will be sure to let you know if I figure out a way to print anything bigger... but thanks for the input, it looks like it could prove to be a very valuable tool, not to mention I have a GPS that I plan to use with it...
-Thanks again...

I love the fact that I can plug my GPS to my computer and put my points right on the map.
If you can figure that large format thing out, do let me know. I can print up to 36" wide and about as long as I want.

I am sure that there would be, but the software limits the size that you can print to 11 x 17.
