The taxidermist I talked to said when you tilt their heads like that it really takes away from the size of the rack........I was going to do the samething(Not the Apple) until he told me that.......

As for the nek looks like he used the wrong size form.......

But none the less its a great looking deer and mount

Really you have two different angles, and the deer is suppose to be stretching to reach the apple. Taxidermist are suppose to measure the neck and the mount and its position is suppose to reflect that. Unless the taxidermist said something about a problem with the cape, I would think you got the right cape and a good looking mount.

all said and done, do you regret getting the deer mounted like that? It does kinda take away from the nice rack.

Look at the bright side....the rack looks twice as big with the smaller neck

Post a couple more pics, from different angles. It's far too hard to judge from just one angle. That particular form may only come in one or two sizes(unless custom built). It's not an easy task to get a bigger cape to fit a smaller form correctly.

Just my opinion, but that mount does indeed take away from the awsome rack you got there. Maybe it's just the angle of the picture. take one where you can see the head and post it...
