Hunters Specialities (H.S) is the brand name. They are a great product, I've been using them for many years..... just remember NOT to put them in and contaiminate any carbon clothes articles you may have.

RE: Scent wafers for clothes storage
I used the earth scent wafers last year for the first time. I just put one in each of my plastic totes that I have. When I went to get my stuff out this hunting season, I just about passed out when I took the lid off, the smell was really strong. I didnt see as many deer this year, and I think that might have had something to do with it. I couldnt hardly stand to have my camo on.[:-] I think this year, I am going to just put some branches and some leaves in with my stuff.

I used to spray my clothes and then store it but it never seemed effective. I recently started using scent wafers (only 1 per rubber maid container) and my clothes always smell fresh and earthy. I think they are a great product.

I've been using the Freah Earth scent wafers for years ,
and I love them , wouldn't go out without them . Whether I'm gun hunting from a pop up blind or bow hunting on foot I think they really help mask your smell . The sex scent version is a joke though , and the acorn and cedar discs don't even smell remotely close . |
RE: Scent wafers for clothes storage
Thanks a lot, saves me a lot of time this weekend. Seems like everytime I go to BPS or Cabela's, I get the guy who just started or doesn't know the first thing about hunting. Thanks again.

Not to disrupt the market for these scent wafers, but I've had more luck taking my clothing, washing it in scent free detergent, then putting it in a large sealable plastic storage box (about 3X2X3 I think) and taking leaves, branches, and berrys from the area that I hunt and place them in among the clothing. Since I've done that I have never had a deer wind me, and have actually had them come directily under my stand and mill around!

Grizzly, I do the same thing sometimes too and that's always pretty effective as well!

I use fresh earth scent wafers to keep my stuff scent free during the summer. Works great, I usually air the box out about 2-3 times before the summer and put in new wafers.

I've been using the fresh earth scent wafers by HS Scents for years. I always use scent free laundry detergent on all my hunting clothes and then I store them in a plastic tote year round with 1 scent wafer. I've had deer all around me numerous times. I believe they work and I'll continue to use them. I had 3 bow kills this season and all were within 10 yards. Ya just can't argue with success.

I use the HS Scent odor neutralizer spray for my boots, my rifle or bow, and my treestand.

ORIGINAL: GRIZZLYMAN Not to disrupt the market for these scent wafers, but I've had more luck taking my clothing, washing it in scent free detergent, then putting it in a large sealable plastic storage box (about 3X2X3 I think) and taking leaves, branches, and berrys from the area that I hunt and place them in among the clothing. After washing in Scent Free,I soak then in cold water with BI-CARBONATE OF SODA {STRONG ARM}, for 4 or 5 hrs. Take them out and let them DRIP dry. When dried, roll them in Pine needles or better yet- pieces of LIGHTER PINE,place them in a storage bag. Some hunters down here, give them a light spray of SIBERIAN PINE OIL. Don't wear them untill you are ready to go in the field! Wearing your boots when you leave the house is not a good idea either! Sometimes you go into Kwik-Marts for coffee or use thier REST ROOMS,most of them have alot of Human scent on the FLOORS! If you are going to hunt a BURNT area, sit around the CAMP fire and smoke them good before you go in the woods and they will smell like burnt pine! |

Sounds like something I might want to try. The scent wafers in the Autumn formula don't smell like anything around where I hunt in Arkansas.

I know people who attach a scent wafer to their hat when they r hunting 2 mask scent. Is that a good idea or not i was thinking of trying it?

RE: Scent wafers for clothes storage
I prefer that my hunting clothes are as odorless as possible. I wash them up at the end of the season, in scent free laundry soap, dry them then store them away in those vacuum seal bags and put them all in a plastic tote.
