Deer Breaks into House
Deer Breaks into House
Kansas City, MO - A Kansas City woman, sound asleep, heard a crash. She got up and found herself face-to-face with a deer in the hallway.
Heather Prendergast thought the cat was to blame. "I come out, ready to get him, and I'm face to face with this deer," Prendergast said.
The deer went in a window at the home on the 4700 block of NW 80th Terr. It's apparently the same window the deer tried to go out of, thought better of, and went back in the house to do some more damage.
"Meanwhile, we're seeing the deer just bounding back and forth in the house. I'm like 'Oh! My parents' poor house,'" Prendergast said.
Prendergast opened the garage door and eventually the deer found its way out. But no one found a clue as to why this buck decided to hop through the window. The Missouri Department of Conservation agrees, saying it's unusual, but not unheard of.
"I think that we'll probably see more of it. We have an extremely high deer population in the Kansas City area," Deborah Burns, Urban Wildlife Biologist, said.
As to why the deer would go through the glass, Burns says something may have spooked the animal, like a dog. Or, maybe he just wasn't the sharpest buck in the herd.
"Animals aren't all that different from people. You have, you know, some really smart ones, and some not so smart ones," Burns said.
If this story isn't odd enough, the same thing happened to the same house, ten years ago.

RE: Deer Breaks into House
In this situation you can only bring things to an end by opening doors.
1. Open door to garage.
2. Once deer finds way into garage - close door.
3. Open gun locker door. Make adequate selection and close door.
4. Open freezer door.
