i dont think i've ever had a really bad hunt, maybe some really tough ones, physically and emotionally.....i remember my first hunt with a climber....it was my sisters.....i was about 40 lbs. lighter and i had no strength what so ever at the time, her and our huntin' buddy had to put it on my back...we had a 2 mile walk....it was diggin ' in my back, hurt so bad, but i kept up until i tripped over a root and came tumblin' down, the climber got my back, bruised it around the cut almost instantly, got back up and we were off after a few minutes....the climber still cutting into my back, they said it was because i was so tiny, it just didnt fit.....come to find out 1/2 way that they put it on upsdie down[:@] made it to the 3/4 mark and i said no more, i went in there.....couldnt make it....searched for a tree, found it, got the climber off and i went to unlock it and NO KEYS and they were far away by now, she forgot to give me the keys.....i sat there and cried, all of that hard work and i couldnt even use it.....i had no chair and the ground was wet, no fallen trees i could climb, it really was heartbreaking....i took the seat part off the climber and i made a small ground blind....i left the climber, i didnt care....didnt think that i might not ever find it again, but at that point i didnt really care, i was mad as hell.....heard a shot, it was fl.huntress, she had gotten her first buck....i was happy for her but still mad that i hadnt even seen anything and now i had to go help her find it because it was a bad shot....i made my way out, luckily i walked across the rest of the climber, bout that time, i was blown and i saw my doe running away, i cried again , lol......gathered it up and i was off, i got to where they went in...it was so nasty that the only reason they hunted where they did was because they agreed to go in together because they were scared to go alone in the dark...it was daylight , but that didnt matter, it scared the mess out of me, walking through unknown terrritory in deep water, deep black water, lol....she called and told me to stay at the point where they went in because i couldnt find them because they werent able to mark the trail completely in the dark...i cried again...abandoned my hunt just to go sit there, no fricking way....so i did it alone, scared to death the whole time...finally made it to her stand out there and she was shocked that i was calling from her stand, lol, i had no way of finding them after that point, so i climbed in other climber and i waited and stewed, got madder by the minute...they ended up locating the deer, killing it then they met me at her stand with the buck....i went off on her, then i helped her drag the buck out
, the guy we were with said he take it from the road, but we had to bring it to the road , it was really hard, lol...now it probably wouldnt be as bad, but we were weaklings back then, she still is, lol.....he threw it over his shoulders and was off, went along the ajoining property owners fenceline and saw a truck, this guy said we could give him the deer seeing it was dark by now and he'd take it to the check station for us, i personally wouldnt of trusted anyone with my first buck, esoecially someone i didnt know, but we handed it over the fence and then we hoofed it because we werent allowed to leave the property with the guns, dont know why, but that is what he said...it didnt matter , we could make it out within an hour without the deer.....he was waiting at the check station with the buck to my disbelief, lol......he restored my faith in mankind that night....i was over the hurt and anger for the most part by then, had a blast helping her bring out that deer and then the gutting party we had after was even better, lol........

That IS a lot of typing. I guess my worst was after freezing all day we went back to the truck, With my gaurd down as well as my gun started to pee. Mid stream a huge deer Blew about 30 yards away and took off.
I almost cryed.

well, I don't have the time to type THAT much, but in a nutshell here is the only bad hunt I have had. sat a loc on for several hours and didn't see a thing (this was after two previous years flying in from san diego and not killing a deer) decided to take my stand down...well, i missed my second step and tumbled about 22 feet to the ground. I snagged one tree step under an arm, and after I woke up (and couldn't breath) I realized I was pretty messed up. at the hospital, they said I had a concussion, 4-5 fractured ribs, two seperated shoulders and a nice 4" cut on my right leg. Yeah, not a good time. messed me up for several months. It was anything but fun walking to the truck to WAIT for my buddy who had deer under him. we had decided not to take the walkie talkies.

I dont remember having one in particular. I started hunting at about the age of 12 or so. The first 3 season's I missed about 6 good bucks. It's good i guess because I'd be running out of room on the living room wall by now.
