That is truely something to hold onto, regardless of the type of gun. Things like that have sentimental value, at least for me.

THe best present i've recieved (that was a gun) was my great great grandfathers .38 special that he had when he was the high sheriff of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. My dad gave it to me right before i left for college at auburn a couple of months ago. it means alot to me. Always keep care of that kind of stuff that you get. I hope one day to pass it down to my son or daughter, that is if i ever have any :-). I never got to spend too much time with my grandfather on my moms side due to him dying when i was 5. Spend as much time as you can with them buddy, write down all their stories, and mark down all of their hunting and fishing spots. I wish i could have done something like that :-)

My grandfather gave me his 1940 sumthing Winchester .30-30 Lever action rifle when I was 13, just before he died a month later, I will always hold on to it.
