I use a "Ching" sling. It has two straps and three connections to the rifle. You carry on your off shoulder, upside down with your hand on the forearm. When you want to shoot your swing the rifle to your shoulder, poke you offhand arm through the strap and wrap your hand around it. Now you have a tight shooting sling that works as good as a target sling and took less than a second to get into. What's not to like. Goggle "Ching Sling" for photos and better descriptions.

I will use a sling to carre it out to my stand then I will remove the strape and load up

I have a sling on my rifle and my turkey gun. I usually take the sling off while I'm in the stand though just to keep it from getting caught on anything if I'm presented with a shot. I use the one on my turkey gun as padding and to keep it from slipping off my knee.
