26 pictures from my modded Stealth camera

Well a week after the changes I made to my camera it's still working great. I'm on the same battery and it is still going strong. After I realigned it I got a bunch of good photos.

seahunter sweet pics! how did u wire the cam so the battery was outside the cam and so you had a place to mount the batts while still keepin the weather proofness. also does water effect the batts at all being unexposed?

1)
This is how I wired it. I know it does not help much but I also don't think anyone should try unless you are willing to accept you might destroy your camera.

2) The external lanter battery is in a plastic box that I strapped to the tree under the camera. the wire goes into the box on the underside and I did not seal the box. the hole in the bottom allows ventalation so battery vapors can seep out. Also durring they daily tempature change it does not absorb condensation and keep it traped.

Yeah, I don't know how many people here would appreashate how nice a 140 pound 8 point buck is for East Central Florida. I bet it if you but those fuzzy reindeer antlers on a miniature grey hound it would get mistaken for a real deer around here. :D

Well done SeaHunter! I'm always glad to see guys/gal's wheels turning (thinking). I was amused by your risk of negating the warranty on your cam but delighted you were bold enough to pursue such things...very cool. ;) :D

LOL
I know what you mean. I live about 30 minutes from Baltimore County, Maryland. Most people around here think that it's a deer if it's brown, it's bigger than a squirrel, and it poops in the woods. [8D]:D

Great shots. Very good ingenuity on your part to totally disassemble and put back together your camera. If I had tried that I'm sure I'd be looking at a pile of junk. Good job.

The camera and the motion sensor both run on 6 volts. Before they each ran on 4 AA batteries which had a 8800 mAh total capacity. now the run off a 6 volt lantern battery with a 54,000 mAh capacity. I never used my multi meter to test how my amps they drew because I knew is was a very low amount. I was only concerned with capacity so I would not have to change batteries so often.

well I've looked around at solar panels and they seems to run at 50mHa. My camera seems to use about 45mHa so it could keep the batteries topped of durring the day. but the loss at night would slowly consume the batteries. I assume i could hook up 2 panels in parallel and it should keep the batteries topped off all the time.

I might give that a try next year.

Great instructional link. I have some friends that had camera problems. I'll forward this to them and hopefully they will get the same results.

This thread did not really solve anything. The problems most people have with the Stealh Cam cameras is not paying attention when loading the film. I'll post a link to a image that shows how to load the film. if you are not carefull with how you load the film you will have nothing but problems. look real close at where you pull the tag end of the film. on the case there are two yeallow lines that say"Film should be laid within this area" any more or any less and nothing happens. still knowing this it takes 2-3 tries before the film usually loads. to know if the film is loaded the camera either shows a "0" when loaded of a "E" when it did not load. If you see the "E" on the screen just open the camera up and nudge the film in or out just a hair and close the case again. I wasted a few rolls of film before I learned this.

I to wasted a couple of rolls of film before figureing this out, also the first time I did not pay attention to the E and 3 weeks later checked the film only to find that it had not even snapped a photo. Great pictures by the way and thanks for the info about the solar panel.

Great pictures by the way
Also it is worth it to find a local film developer that uses a "FUJI" digital developer. I tried 5 different developers and the Fuji machine hands down beats all the others.

trust me if you saw all the prints i had made from the same negative you would not believe the difference. This image is a scan of 4 prints but it is much more of a dramatic difference when you see the actual prints. the fuji print is the lower left image.
