RE: Dumb Question????

As an official deer scorer, I can tell you that it doesn't matter how many points there are on either side. A deer may have 9 points on one side and 1 on the other and still be a typical! Typical points are just that, points that grow " typically" of most deer. Which means that all points that grow from the top or " typically " from the main beam are typical points. Points that grow " non-typically " would be just that as well. Points growing from other points or points growing from the bottom of the main beam ( drop tines ) are examples of non-typical points. Most deer with only a few non-typical points can be scored Typical or Non-typical. Deer with large amounts of non-typical points ( Beatty Buck i.e. ) will be scored as non- typicals officially. You can find out more by logging on to the Boone & Crockett website. Good Luck!

One Bullet, you also need to learn the difference between Typical and Non-Typical.
