Me and a buddy went out feral hog hunting this evening and driving back home, four deer jumped the road in front of us. One was a nice 8 point. They got in the field and the buck was chasing these does, head down going from one to the next, didn't really care that we were about 75 yards from them. I'm in MO close to Ft Leonard Wood, muzzleloader season just closed a few weeks ago, so I would think the bucks wouldn't be to inclined to come out in the daylight. It was about 4:45 this evening when this happened so there was about 30 more minutes of daylight left. Was he trying to get him some or what?

It looks like it LoL
Looks like a little late rut.
Maybe you should go after some more deer if your season is still in.
NC ends Jan first [:@]
What ever it is Good Luck.

There are those who say that there is a second rut, not as intense, about 30 days after the main rutting period. I'm sure some does come into heat later. I have seen bucks actively chasing does toward the end of Dec. around here.

there are always a few does that didn't get breed and will come in a mo. later.the wife and I went yesterday for the first time in a mo. and found two fresh scraps and a new rub.so I guess there is still one buck in our area that is still active.[8D]
.
we are off for the next 3 days , so we are going after him.

The bucks are still in rut. The past couple of times I've been out I've watch 2 different bucks at different times, running does hard in a milo field, with their nose on the ground, just going in circles. The 2nd rut is in full swing here in Kansas.
