justhuntitall,

As you know interesting/relevant topics are not always found under the anticipated "forum". For example this is a wolf thread under deer hunting ---- could have been found anywhere. When it comes to wolves, I feel I have something to contribute.

Besides, I have shot a deer or two or three along the way.... On ocassion it's kinda interesting to read down thru and see what the "pressing issues" of the deer hunting "world" are so I might better strive to properly understand and appreciate the whitetail mystique.

ElkCrazy8,

(1) I probably post over here a few times per month.

(2) I'm game to talk about wolves to just about anyone who might listen.

(3)

"....you were here on the small game forum...."
Hey, stop that --- you could hurt folks feelings. [:o]

We do not have wolves in Mississippi but I believe without a doubt, that they have a place in our forests. I understand cattlefarmers concerns but I would hope we could find some common ground.
Ironically, there was a documentary on Discovery Science tonight about the social strutcture of a wolfpack. The NesPerse(spelling?) Indians considered wolves to be exelent rolemodels for social structure as well as hunting tactics. We, as outdoorsmen, would do well to respect this remarkable creature and try to relate to his hunting instincts.
I would hate to see the wolf of the west to go the way of the panther of the MS delta.

Some groups that want wolves reintroduced have another agenda ,they want the wolves to control the deer and elk herds so that there will be no need for sport hunting.

Sure sounds like a very scientific conclusion this guy was able to come up with. I can't believe someone took the time to write an article about someone trying to "think like an elk" and having an "aha" moment. Sure sounds like they are trying to paint a pretty face on a bad idea to me.
