RE: stealth cam ?
What about positioning these high in the tree to avoid theft?
Can they be mounted, say, 15 ft off the ground and angled down? |
RE: stealth cam ?
I bought one at Gander Mountain in Indy for 35$ and It paid for itself in less than 2 months. The only problem there is with them is if they take in a glare they will go off. So dont set it facing E or W where it will have the sun glaring off the sensor. Also if your putting it in a darker area like a thicket, use 800 speed film. It gives it 10 times better quality. Also dont put it to close to the trail because the motion detector isnt as good as a dig. I like to put min 2-4 yards from the trail and I'll throw a dozen apples in the area to slow them down.

RE: stealth cam ?
So would 800 speed film be a better choice than say, 400?

RE: stealth cam ?
If you put the cam 15ft in a tree. Then whoever wants to steal it will just go home and get a ladder.
I usually use 400, but 800 does a lot better job in my cam with night pics. |
RE: stealth cam ?
Well if some dude wants to drive home and lug a ladder thru the woods to my treestand then I guess he DESERVES it!
