Field testing, book numbers, your friend uses it or is it just what you father used? As far as I care any gun that can kill a deer quickly and humanly on a repeatable basis is "The best deer gun". |

the last 2 years i been hunting on my own my dad has got me into hunting he tells me stories of him carrying me down over the mountain in the dark when i was 4 or 5.

id much rather hunt with slayer then zerx at least slayer has common sense and knows the limits of his rifles

brl- you learned well from him ---young skywalker--- teach your friends ethics and stick ta what ya believe in, you remind me alot of my 19 year old stepson, he stands his ground, ( he has also learned to admit if hes wrong- that was a big step for him) he has yet to get his first deer but i didnt get him hunting till he was your age (momma didnt like guns and would not let them in her house till she understood and could use everyone of them--she now owns her own 422s&w pistol, a 1911 colt 45 which she traded her .380 auto in for, a 18 1/2 in mossberg 500 defender 12 gauge pump after firing 1000s of rounds she is a good pistol shooter 4/5 at 25 yds ) he could not hunt this year because of illness[:'(][X(]:( ah heck well just have ta hunt the he-- outta em next year and get twice as many[8D];) |

i shot a 8 when i was 10 and my six this year the deer population where i live dropped from 28,000 to 3000 over the last 5 years i dont know what have happened but they are shuttin the season down next year hopefully that will help
