Default is it non-typical

if an antler comes up normal then goes sideways then straight up again where he might of broke it in velvet make it non-typical?

Probably not. Is it just one tine or the main beam itself? Some bucks with abnormal points are still scored as typical. The extra points are just considered deductions where as a non-typical would get credit for them. I'm not sure where you would draw the line between the two. Probably the frame.
