RE: Introduce wolves and mountain lion to control deer
Lets just kill it all that don't suit our particular economic interest. The ranchers will be free to kill the deer and elk eating their winter range and haystacks, the outfitters willkill the wolves, cats, and bears for killing game, the chicken farmers can shoot the eagles and hawks, and as for the bison, well they're bout gone anyway, so no need to do much there. People keep spreadin' to all the empty places on the map, there won't be anywhere to enjoy the outdoors anyway. Already having population problems in national parks. Seems to me, there was a pretty good balance of everything until europeans, with their self-centered universe, started whacking everything so that they could eventually die in a land bearing no resemblance to its natural state. How many cattle are there in this world? Ever heard a wolf howl or seen a griz fishing? That's worth a few cows in my book, especially when they're taken on public, not private land. Won't be the same world without wilderness. I say thin out the damn humans! Yall can go buy your guns and outdoor gear at one of a million malls and spend your days playing with in in your new suburban condo. Yep, humans are way overrated.

Buckmine,
We're a dyin' breed ol' feller. The narcassistic, consumptive mentality of white men will be the ruination of our world. Wish they'd open a season on ATVs and real estate agents. I'd get my limit every year. |

RE: Introduce wolves and mountain lion to control deer
Beav,
Thanks for the agreement. To all I am not here to solve all problems but am voicing my opinion on our natural world. I thank God that my father owns 120 acres and that I walk upon it like it was gold. Whenever I see a candy bar wrapper from a relative, because of them sitting in there stand and not putting it in there pocket, I pick it up. I don't go preaching to them about what they did. We all need to be smart enough about our natural world. Smart enough because we supposedly have the "superior" brains over all creatures. |
RE: Introduce wolves and mountain lion to control deer
Let's be realistic. Very few states contain enough suitable habitat to support enough wolves and cougars to control the deer herds at their current levels. You can complain all you want about man being a "plight" on the planet, but we are here and we owe it to nature to take care of things the best we can with what we got. We need to remember, we all have to stick together or we may as well roll over now and let the ANTI'S have their way.

RE: Introduce wolves and mountain lion to control deer
Call me stupid, but I really don't have a problem with wolves and deer. Wolves inhabit the area that I hunt. Any study that I've ever read shows that they feed mainly on the sick and old. In my area feral dogs pose a much greater threat. They don't fear man and kill for pleasure.

RE: Introduce wolves and mountain lion to control deer
Ok lets introduce more wolves and lions no problem the population grows the wolves make a new packs the lions have a new home range and yes they control the deer and elk herds but then with todays hunting population we have less numbers of game animals to hunt. Now we have a problem alot of people less game to hunt and yes some areas will close and people will be congested in one area ok now we can`nt control the preditors because there a protected spiecies. Lets see whos foot steps in the door first ya right the antis and they take are rights away to hunt because there is not a viable species to hunt so then it gets protcted and put on an endangered list. You really have to way the PROS AND (CONS)to see the long term afect.
Just my opinion. |
