i also hunt in wisconsin and I've noticed that the can calls do not work as well as others. i personally use a woodswise 6-in-1 buck-n-doe combo call. this call works great and is not to expensive.

I called a buck off a doe it was chasing on Monday with the Can. I hit it 10 times in a row to make sure he heard it and bagged the deer 5 minutes later. I've had good success with the Can during the pre-rut/rut period here in PA.

I bought one just this year, and have been using it here in MT. In two instances so far I've tipped the can for deer I could see. First, a spike buck, and he was really interested and seemed on the verge of coming over, but I don't want a spike so I hid from him. Second, I hit the can with a herd of does and fawns in sight below me. The lead doe did not approve! She took to stomping and snorting at me, although wind was clearly in my favor and she had no sight line to me.
I'd call that a split decision, but I have to use it more before I come to a firm conclusion.
