I killed a doe today
#1
My elderly neighbor lady called me this morning. Said there was a deer laying in the back of her house in the bean field. I told her it might be a bow injury. I went over to access it. Got permission from authorities to shoot her. Turned her over, she had a huge old, calloused swelling, and maggots on her left front leg. I figured a car or truck might've hit her. She had suffered a long time. I couldn't help by cry as she went out.
Hunters aren't ruthless killers. We care more for the animals than peta will ever understand. Just my 2 cents...

Just out of curiosity, what is the fastest way to shot a wounded deer so that it will expire quickly. Do you shoot it in the head or a vitals area (heart, lung) shot. Just curious in case I ever come across this situation.
Also, thanks for doing the right thing. I'm sure it was hard.

In reply to joe d: If you had a gun then a head shot would be the way to do it, if you had a bow then through the vitals, try taking a up close head shot on a deer with a bow while its head is moving............darn neer impossible.
Sunset: i know just how you feel my friend spine shot a doe, and she was crying very loud and i had to run out and shoot her through the vitals, and you could just see the air escape from her body, that was a very sad day for me. I patted her and told her it would all be over soon, and me and my friend eric got down on our knees and said a prayer for her and us. I promised her should would not go to waste, and she did her part in this cruel harsh world. By the way sunset, i sent you an email did u get it?
