Default Illinois Supreme court Decision

[:@]Due to the recent Illinois Supreme Court decision on Liability, My landowner in Vermilion County has banned hunting on his land. This came two weeks before the shotgun season and in the middle of an excellent bow season. We have hunted this area for several years and are now scrambling to find another spot. Has anyone had any problems with this? Any suggestions on how ease landowners fears. I've never been so disappointed at this time of the year.

What changed that turned off the landowner so badly ?
Could you possibly provide a link to the legislation ?

There is a lot of buzz around here over this issue. He is an attorney. I'm sure he's just trying to cover himself. This article should give you some insight.

In our deer leases we have liability insurance coverage included in the lease agreement. Couldn't you buy coverage that would protect the landowner?

Wow !
That's just plain despicable ! What the hell is the F&G dept. supposed to do about the surplus deer now ? Can you get sued if somebody is trespassing on your land while poaching or burglarizing your home now ? If I were y'all I'd hold a huge drive and herd all the deer into Chicago so they can see what their idiocy has wrought . [:@]

I have always had a liability waiver when I was in Kansas and would sign it in front of the land owner and give it to him. Got a lot of land to hunt on then.

That is a stupid ruling for one. But I agree just see if the land owner will sign a waiver getting him out of liability.

Great, like I need another reason to hate ambulance chasers.

We have to sign liability waivers every year for our hunting lease.
